Types

Stress incontinence

  • Is the involuntary leakage of urine during exercise, coughing, sneezing, laughing or lifting.
  • Stress incontinence affects women of all ages.
  • It is the problem in 3/4 of adult incontinent patients.
  • It is most frequent in women after menopause


Urge incontinence [Overactive bladder]

  • Bladder dysfunction where the need to void is so sudden that loss of urine occurs before the patient makes it to the toilet.
  • It occurs typically in elderly women after menopause, but also in young women.
  • Urge incontinence may be caused by Parkinson's disease, stroke, or multiple sclerosis
  • In most cases there is no apparent cause.

Mixed incontinence

  • Is the combination of the two types


Overflow incontinence

  • Can occurs after surgery or Accidents. The urge to empty bladder is not there when the bladder is full. The bladder simply overflows with a small urine leak.


Reflex incontinence

  • Rarely occur in women
