Myomectomy
Myomectomy is the removal of the fibroid or fibroids (myomas) with preservation of the uterus.
The fibroids may be:
- Subserous: The fibroid is superficial in uterine wall under the covering layer serosa
- Intramural: The fibroid is within the uterine wall.
- Submucus: The fibroid is in the uterine wall but lies immediately under the endometrium and or bulging inside the uterus.
- Combination of the above
